An exercise image is missing or shows a dumbbell icon

Why images sometimes don't load and what you can do.

If an exercise is showing a dumbbell icon instead of an illustration, the image generation for that exercise didn't succeed. The routine still works β€” only the visual is missing.

Why this happens

  • Moderation block. Some exercise names trigger automated content moderation on the image provider's side β€” even when the exercise itself is benign. The system can't override this.

  • Temporary glitch. Occasional image generation failures that will resolve on their own or with a retry.

  • Still generating. If you opened the routine within a few seconds of creation, images may not have finished generating yet. Wait a bit.

If you're on Plus

You can retry failed images. Open the exercise and look for a regenerate option.

If you're on Free

You can't manually retry images, but you can:

  • Re-prompt slightly differently. "Generate the same routine but call the happy baby pose 'lying hip opener'" can sidestep moderation blocks.

  • Edit the routine. Ask to swap the problem exercise for a similar one.

On shared routines

The web share page shows a styled dumbbell icon for any missing image. Recipients don't see broken images β€” the fallback looks intentional.
