Some exercises — single-leg deadlifts, side planks, split squats — need to be done on both sides. The app handles the side switch for you.
"Each side" exercises
The timer runs for the full duration on the left side first, then an automatic side-switch prompt appears (typically a short rest — 5 to 15 seconds — so you can reset), then the timer runs again on the right side.
You don't tap anything. Just switch when the prompt appears.
"Alternating" exercises
These alternate side-by-side within the exercise itself — think alternating lunges or dead bugs. The timer treats them as one block; you alternate at your own rhythm.
Skipping partway through
If you skip an "each side" exercise after completing just one side, the whole exercise is marked as skipped. There's no "partial credit" — this keeps the completion stats clean.
Why the side switch isn't optional
You can't dismiss the side-switch rest timer — it's there so you don't accidentally skip a side. Just wait for it, or tap Skip Exercise to bail on the entire exercise.
Bilateral exercises
Exercises that use both sides at once (push-ups, squats, planks) don't have a side switch. They just run as one timer.
